A unique personal send-off

A unique personal send-off

The McCarthy family laid their wonderful father, affectionately known as “Mac”, to rest at Riverview Natural Burial Ground in a very special and personal way. “Mac” arrived in style, in one of his favourite modes of transport; a camper van, in an amazing homemade coffin decorated with a guitar hand crafted by the family, and lined with locally sourced sheep’s wool.

This is one of the advantages of a Natural Burial, the family are able to truly give a loved one the send-off that suits them best. This family were able to incorporate all of Mac's passions and even though it was November, the sun shone and they said goodbye in their own way with love and care.

A marquee was erected to accommodate 30 (socially distanced) attendees. Family and friends all joined in to make this a true celebration of “Mac’s” life, with acoustic music, heart felt stories and memories told. The celebration of Mac’s life was led by the wonderful and supportive funeral director, Holly.

Mac was finally laid to rest, his song playing in the background.
A beautiful and unique send off !..
